Так проблемы в том, чтобы использовать jre через Rosetta, нет. Я ожидал, что оно запустится на нативной Java для ARM, но видимо не судьба. 

P. S. arm-версия от bellsoft аналогично себя ведет. Придется, видимо, через Rosetta запускать

У людей вроде бы всё запускалось без каких-либо проблем. Может это всё слухи, конечно...

Однажды была проблема из-за расширения имени файла библиотеки: dylib vs jnilib

Без транслятора x86 -> ARM не запустить, в клиенте нет нативных библиотек под эту архитектуру и ось.

LWJGL3 поддерживает мак и арм из коробки, https://www.lwjgl.org/customize

Но 1.7.10 и 1.12.2 сидят на 2й версии этой либы, а там под арм только кастомные репозитоии искать, либо пытаться скомпилить библиотеки самому, попутно допилив логику из подгрузки.
